About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards lie in Madonna di Como, a hamlet of Alba. They face east and grow on white marl containing clay and limestone. The vines are Guyot trained, with a yield of 8,000 kg/ha.
Grapes
100% Arneis.
Vinification
The free-run juice is obtained with soft pressing, followed by fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats at 10–12°C.
Ageing
The wine remains on its fine lees for 2–3 months. Several weekly pump-overs keep the natural yeasts in suspension and encourage further aromatic extraction. It is then racked and filtered to achieve the intended clarity and colour before bottling.
Tasting profile
Bright straw yellow. The nose is intense, combining white flowers, citrus fruit and chamomile. The palate is fruity and pleasantly mineral, with the variety’s characteristic almond note emerging on the finish.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 6–8°C. It pairs with starters, pasta dishes, fish and crustaceans and can also be served as an aperitif. It shows its best characteristics during its first three years.
