Vineyard and terroir
The wine is organic. Its core Grecanico fruit comes from a historic vineyard in Sicily.
Grapes
Grecanico, a native Sicilian variety cultivated on the island for more than 2,000 years, forms the heart of the wine. Sauvignon Blanc and Grillo were added to the blend for the 2024 vintage.
Vinification
Vinification takes place entirely in stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine is aged entirely in stainless-steel tanks.

Label / history
The name Alastro comes from a wild shrub whose yellow flowers cover the valleys around Lake Arancio in spring. The wine was created as Planeta’s tribute to Grecanico.
