About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc are grown in the Ferralino vineyard, identified as Montalcino’s first Cabernet vineyard and planted in 1974.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand into small crates. Each variety is fermented separately for 12–15 days at a controlled temperature of 25–28 °C.
Ageing
Each variety ages separately for 12 months in French oak barrels. After blending, the wine matures in bottle for at least another eight months.
Tasting profile
The wine combines the rich varietal character of Sangiovese with the complexity and smoothness of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
