About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
Vigna Paganelli is the estate’s oldest vineyard, planted in 1964. Its old Sangiovese vines preserve a broad range of clones and have served as a clonal reference for planting newer vineyards. The wine is made exclusively from this site and only in selected vintages, in limited quantities. The vines are trained using the doppio capovolto system.
Grapes
100% Sangiovese. Harvesting is performed by hand, with individual selection of the best and ripest bunches.
Vinification
The 2019 underwent 20 days of submerged-cap fermentation in stainless-steel tanks with indigenous yeasts at 25–28 °C. Malolactic fermentation also took place in stainless steel.
Ageing
A long period in large French-oak casks was followed by bottle ageing.
Technical data
2019 vintage; 14.5% alcohol.
