About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes come from the estate’s oldest vineyards, situated between 150 and 450 m above sea level. The vines are trained using cordon spur and doppio capovolto systems.

Grapes

100% Sangiovese, harvested by hand.

Vinification

For the 2021 vintage, submerged-cap fermentation lasted 15–20 days in stainless-steel tanks with indigenous yeasts at a controlled 25–28 °C. Malolactic fermentation took place in stainless steel.

Ageing

The wine underwent long maturation in large French-oak casks of 30 and 50 hl, followed by bottle ageing. The final period in bottle is intended to develop greater harmony and complexity.

Technical data

2021 vintage; 14.5% alcohol.

Tasting profile

Ruby red. The bouquet is intense and persistent, centred on red-fruit aromas. The palate is warm and balanced, with velvety tannins and a long aromatic finish.

Serving and pairing

Pair with red meats, game and mature cheeses.
