About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from 15 ha of vineyards in the Montepulciano area, situated between 250 and 350 m above sea level and encompassing various exposures. The soils are silty clay with a slight presence of stones, and planting density is 5,000 vines per hectare.
Grapes
90% Cabernet Sauvignon, with the remaining 10% composed of Merlot and Petit Verdot. The blend is conceived as a Tuscan interpretation of a Bordeaux-style red.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested manually into crates and undergo a second manual selection in the cellar. Fermentation and maceration take place in truncated-conical stainless-steel vats for 20–25 days.
Ageing
The wine matures for 16 months in new French-oak barriques. Its ageing potential exceeds 20 years.
Technical data
First produced in 1987. Average production is approximately 18,000 bottles.
Tasting profile
A modern, structured red intended for extended ageing, combining the profile of an international Bordeaux-style blend with the character of the Montepulciano growing area.
Label / history
