About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vines are cordon spur-pruned at a density of 5,952 vines per hectare, with a yield of 55–60 quintals per hectare (5.5–6.0 t/ha). The vineyards’ altitude and very well-draining soil proved beneficial during the wet 2023 growing season.
Grapes
100% certified-organic Sangiovese. The grapes reached optimal phenolic ripeness and were rigorously selected on a sorting table so that only sound fruit entered vinification.
Vinification
Fermentation begins spontaneously and relies exclusively on indigenous yeasts. Temperatures are not controlled, and fermentation can last 30–40 days.
Ageing
The wine matures exclusively in stainless steel for 12 months, followed by approximately four months in bottle before release.

Vintage notes
The 2023 vintage experienced an unusually long, rainy spring that encouraged downy mildew. Targeted, timely organic treatments were used to contain it, while the vineyards’ altitude and highly draining soil provided additional help. The harvest concluded with approximately 15% less production than the annual norm. Despite the reduced crop, the fruit achieved optimal phenolic maturity, and intensive sorting allowed only sound grapes to be vinified.
