About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from 60-year-old vines in the Madonna degli Angeli vineyard in Bramaterra, in the province of Novara. The vineyard has glacial moraine soils characteristic of sites found mainly along the Sesia River. These soils give Nebbiolo a more aromatic character than it develops in the Langhe.
Vinification
Fermentation takes place for 28 days in open-top wooden vats.
Ageing
The wine matures on its lees for 21 months in large 15 hl barrels, followed by 18–20 months of bottle ageing in the winery’s cellars. The 2019 vintage is expected to reach peak maturity between 2024 and 2036.
