About this wine
Grapes
Blend proportions vary by vintage. Dolcetto, Barbera and Nebbiolo form the blend, with other local red varieties included occasionally; exact percentages are not specified.
Vinification
The grapes are picked by hand and transported in perforated crates to preserve their condition. After destemming, the must ferments spontaneously. Frequent pump-overs favour colour extraction while limiting the extraction of more aggressive tannins. Racking is followed by malolactic fermentation. The component wines are then assembled in variable proportions to preserve the wine’s consistent stylistic character.
Ageing
After bottling, the wine rests briefly before release.
Tasting profile
An intense ruby-red colour introduces pronounced fruit aromas that carry onto the palate. Cherry, plum and sour cherry are prominent. The wine has good structure and medium body, leading to a broad, persistent, dry finish with light tannins.
Label / history
The name comes from the Piedmontese dialect expression “L’è propi bun, neh!”, meaning “It really is good, isn’t it?” The word “neh” is presented as an expression as familiar to Piedmontese speakers as a good glass of wine.
