About this wine
Vinification
For the 2008 vintage, Sangiovese was the last variety harvested. Fine weather continued through harvest, allowing the grapes to reach the cellar healthy and ripe. Fermentation lasted 8–10 days in stainless-steel tanks and large oak barrels at 24–28 °C.
Tasting profile
Elegant and balanced.
Vintage notes
The winter of 2008 was mild, followed by a spring with little rainfall. The first half of June was unusually wet, recording 80 mm of rain, but conditions became generally warm from late June without major temperature spikes. Rain returned in mid-August and mid-September. Pronounced differences between daytime and nighttime temperatures in September contributed richer aromas and deeper colour in the grapes. The Sangiovese harvest was rated excellent.
