About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
All grapes come from the Poderi Ducali estates in Veneto, including Ca’ del Duca and La Duchessa. The vineyards lie at 100–250 m above sea level. Their deep soils consist of conglomerates of rock and sand, with abundant clay and iron.
Grapes
85% Glera; the remaining 15% comprises Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and other complementary grapes.
Vinification
Carefully selected grapes are pressed to obtain the must. Part of the must undergoes alcoholic fermentation to become wine, while the remainder is retained in the cellar at 0°C so that a suitable cuvée remains available after harvest. Before the sparkling-wine stage, the must and wine are blended, inoculated with selected yeasts and refermented in pressurized tanks according to the Charmat method. The process lasts approximately one month, developing a fine perlage while preserving the varieties’ fruit and floral character.
