About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco and Sauvignon Blanc come from vineyards around Colterenzio/Cornaiano, at elevations of 400–550 metres.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and gently pressed at the winery. Fermentation takes place under temperature-controlled conditions.
Ageing
The wine rests briefly on its lees in oak barrels, followed by a further 12 months in bottle in the estate’s cellars before release.
Label / history
LR takes its name from the initials of Luis Raifer, the driving force behind the cooperative, and was developed through several years of experimentation. The 2020 vintage was subsequently released.
Colterenzio was founded in 1960 by 28 local farmers. It now comprises more than 290 winegrowers farming approximately 300 hectares. The cooperative is named after the village of Colterenzio near Girlan.
Colterenzio’s labels feature the silhouette of a 15th-century castle built by Archduke Sigismund, who supported the development of local vineyards. The castle is now almost entirely in ruins.
