About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
Frales is sourced from two small plots in Monforte d’Alba. Vineyard management is directed toward low yields and avoids forcing the vines, producing few, small bunches per plant. The bunches are picked at full ripeness to preserve the identity of each vineyard and express the character of the territory.
Grapes
Nebbiolo.
Vinification
Submerged-cap fermentation lasts 7–10 days, followed by approximately 20 days of maceration. Once malolactic fermentation is complete, the wine is transferred to wood.
Ageing
The wine matures in wood for one year in contact with its own sediment, a process intended to refine its texture and develop greater elegance. Further bottle maturation builds additional complexity.
