About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Riserva combines grapes from Bussia, Le Coste di Monforte and Vigna dei Fantini. The three terroirs are assembled to express the character and potential of the Comune di Monforte d’Alba. The family’s vineyards extend across 7.4 hectares within the historic Le Coste di Monforte and Bussia sites.
Viticulture follows a low-yield approach, limiting each vine to a small number of compact clusters. Grapes are harvested at full maturity to retain the identity of each vineyard.
Vinification
Alcoholic fermentation takes place under a submerged cap for 7–10 days, followed by a long maceration of approximately 80 days. After malolactic fermentation is complete, the wine is transferred to wood.
Ageing
The wine matures for two years in wood in contact with its sediment. Bottle maturation subsequently builds further complexity.
Label / history
The Bolmida family began producing wine in Monforte d’Alba in 1999. Silvano and Paola initially tended the family’s historic vineyards and were later joined in the estate’s management by their children, Alessandra and Francesco. The first vintage of this Riserva was 2019.
