About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The Nebbiolo is grown in the Roero area.

Vinification

The grapes are carefully destemmed and gently pressed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at around 28 °C and is followed by 10 days of maceration. The source gives the fermentation as lasting 6 months.

Ageing

The wine is aged for at least 9 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, then further in bottle.

Tasting profile

Delicate aroma and a deep, well-balanced palate with a complex character. Mature, complex tannins give the wine power and elegance. Orange hues become more pronounced with age.

Serving and pairing

Suited to braised meat and cured meats. The 2020 is ready to drink now and also has good ageing potential.

Label / history

The Sordo family has grown grapes since 1912 and is now in its fourth generation.
