About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are selected fruit grown in South Tyrol. The soil suits the variety and yields juicy, aromatic grapes.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested entirely by hand and taken to the winery. Fermentation is slow, at a controlled temperature, in stainless steel tanks.
Ageing
After fermentation the wine matures on the lees in oak barrels for 5–7 months.
Tasting profile
Semi-dry. The aroma is characteristically spicy and slightly sweet, and pleasant.
Label / history
Kössler is based in the medieval village of San Paolo, in the heart of the Tyrolean wine region. Its winemaking history goes back to 1631. In 2005 it was acquired by the Cantina Produttori San Paolo (St. Pauls) cooperative, which continues to produce the Kössler wines.
