About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The Sangiovese grows in the San Leonino estate vineyard in Castellina in Chianti, at an altitude of around 400 metres.

Vinification

Harvest takes place in two stages. 70% of the ripe fruit is picked first; the remaining 30% is left on the vines to dry naturally until December. After sorting, the grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for 18 days.

Ageing

The wine ages for 24 months in 300-litre French oak barriques. After bottling it rests a further 18 months in the winery's cellars.
