About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes are grown on plots around the winery, on the gentle slopes of Valiano di Montepulciano, 70 km from Siena. The estate covers 180 ha, of which more than 78 ha are planted with vines. Of these, 55 ha supply grapes for Vino Nobile; the remaining vineyards contain red and white varieties, both native and international.

Grapes

Sangiovese forms the main part of the blend, supplemented by a small proportion of other red varieties.

Vinification

Fermentation and maceration take place in stainless-steel tanks for 10 days at 18–28 °C.

Ageing

The wine matures for several months in 55 hl oak barrels.

Label / history

The estate is based in a historic villa dating from the 16th century.
