About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from three plots, where some vines are up to 100 years old and grow on rock associated with the wine’s name.
Vinification
Carefully selected grapes are destemmed and gently pressed. Fermentation proceeds slowly in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature, with occasional gentle agitation of the must, followed by malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine matures for 18 months in wooden barrels, one third of them new. The final blend is assembled three months before bottling.
Label / history
“Porphyr” takes its name from the rock on which the grapes grow.
