About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
Nebbiolo comes from municipalities within the Barolo production area. The vineyards have calcareous-clay soils and vertical trellising with Guyot pruning. Grapes are picked entirely by hand in October, and the maximum yield is 8 tonnes per hectare.
Grapes
100% Nebbiolo.
Vinification
The grapes are destemmed and crushed under a controlled atmosphere. Alcoholic fermentation proceeds at 28–30°C, with approximately 16–20 days of skin contact. The wine is transferred to oak after malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine ages for 38 months in total, including at least 18 months in 25 or 50 hL French oak casks.
