About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from a southeast-facing vineyard in Kurtatsch, at 450–480 m above sea level. The soils consist of chalky gravel with glacial deposits. The vines were 15–20 years old and planted at a density of 7,000 vines per hectare.
Vinification
Vinification began in January 2009. Fermentation proceeded very slowly for two months, using 225 L barriques and stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine matured on its lees for 11 months, followed by one year in bottle.
Tasting profile
Amber in colour, with a layered aroma and a honeyed palate. Balance, elegance and distinctive character are hallmarks of the Linticlarus range.
Label / history
The label bears the term Vendemmia Tardiva, meaning “late harvest.” The range is produced only in years when the vineyard harvest is considered flawless. Its name derives from Castrum Linticlar, a fortress built by the Romans whose ruins stand on the winery’s land. The wine received Luca Maroni’s Best Sweet Wine award and a Gold Star from Vini Buoni d’Italia.
