About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The south-facing vineyards are located on hillsides in Cortaccia and in the Magra river valley, at elevations of 210–380 m. In Cortaccia, the soils are chalky, gravelly and moraine-based; near the Magra, they are sandy and alluvial. The oldest vines were planted in 2007.
Vinification
After harvest, the grapes are sorted and pressed at the winery. Fermentation takes place on the skins in stainless-steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine matures in large oak barrels for eight months before bottling.
Label / history
The 2017 vintage was released in a limited production of 9,000 bottles.
