About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from hillside plots in Carosino owned by the Feudo Croce estate. The soils are predominantly limestone and clay.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness, then sorted and crushed. Maceration and fermentation take place in stainless-steel tanks at 22–26 °C for 8–10 days.

Ageing

The wine matures for 12 months in Slavonian oak tonneaux.

Tasting profile

Noticeable, chewy tannins and soft acidity frame rich fruit and berry flavours.

Label / history

The name “Byzantium” is Latin for “Byzantium.”
