About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from the hills of Colline Novaresi in northern Piedmont, from the Maretta and Poncioni vineyards. The soils are loamy and alluvial, and they give the wine its mineral backbone and freshness.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested into small crates to keep the fruit intact. At the winery they are gently pressed, and the must ferments in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation is used to soften the acidity. The winemaking aims to preserve the character of both the variety and the terroir.
Ageing
The wine is aged briefly in French oak barrels, which adds a little depth and softness.
Tasting profile
A fresh, easy-drinking Nebbiolo with the variety's classic character. It is bright and fresh, with a youthful, energetic feel and a mineral backbone.
