About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from old, high-altitude vineyards in the Colline Novaresi area, farmed exclusively with organic methods. The soils are volcanic, together with ancient alluvial terraces carrying marine deposits, a combination that gives the wine its firm character.

Vinification

The grapes are picked by hand in the first half of October, once optimally ripe, and selected with care. They undergo one day of cold maceration, then ferment in large cement tanks at a carefully controlled temperature, which noticeably softens the texture of the wine.

Ageing

The wine ages for 6 months in old oak barrels of 5–12 hl.

Tasting profile

Expressive, with juicy berry flavours balanced by a firm mineral character. Delicate floral notes and deep mineral accents show in the glass.

Label / history

Nebbiolo is traditionally known as Spanna in Alto Piemonte, which is the name of the wine.
