About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit grows on small terraces set in rocky gorges in one of the most difficult-to-reach parts of Valtellina Superiore. The area experiences very high summer temperatures. Its sandy loam soils are low in humus and yield intensely aromatic fruit.
Ageing
The wine rests for 18–24 months in oak barrels, which further firms its structure.
Tasting profile
Full aromas and a strong character lead to a firm, well-defined structure. Austere and tannic, the palate is balanced by a soft texture.
Serving and pairing
Open the bottle or decant the wine for two hours before serving.
Label / history
The name “Inferno” probably derives from the distinctive terroir in which the fruit is grown.
