About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The 3-hectare Carteria vineyard is in the Valgella subzone, at 500 metres above sea level. Fay consolidated its plots and began replanting the vines, continuing the work over subsequent years.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness, usually during the first half of October. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation in oak barrels.
Ageing
The wine matures for 12 months in 500-litre oak barrels and large 30 hl oak casks, followed by a further 18 months in bottle in the winery’s cellars before release.
Label / history
The Carteria vineyard takes its name from a small area of the municipality of Teglio where the Fay family owned vineyards.
