About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The 2.5 ha Ca Morei vineyard is situated in the Valgella area, in the municipality of Teglio, at 550 m above sea level.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness, usually in the second half of October. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation in oak barrels.
Ageing
The wine matures for 12 months in 500 L oak barrels and large 30 hL oak casks, followed by a further 15 months in bottle in the winery’s cellars before release.
Label / history
The vineyard’s dialect name means “Casa Morelli” and refers to the property where Mansueto Morelli lived with his family in the early twentieth century. In 1947, his daughter Emma married Pietro Fay, Sandro’s father.
