About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow on the Gargano Peninsula in Puglia, in white, stony limestone soils dating from the Kimmeridgian period and warmed by the sun.
Vinification
Spontaneous fermentation takes place in open stainless-steel tanks without temperature control, followed by five days of skin contact.
Ageing
The wine rests for six months in large stainless-steel vats and is bottled without filtration.
Tasting profile
Balanced and focused, with a masculine character, freshness and minerality.
Label / history
Calcarius was conceived as an exploration of the meeting between art and science, centred on rationality, exploration, minerals and limestone.
