About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow at 250–300 m above sea level on southwest-facing hillsides in Monferrato. The limestone-soil vineyard is planted at 4,200 vines per hectare and yields 11 tonnes per hectare. The vines are Guyot-trained.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in September. Fermentation lasts two weeks in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 18 °C.
Ageing
The wine rests briefly in neutral vessels.
Tasting profile
Fresh and floral, with a delicate, rounded and fruity palate.
Label / history
First released in 2004. Villa Sparina owner Stefano Moccagatta designed the unusually shaped bottle, taking inspiration from paintings by his favourite artist, Giorgio Morandi.
