Vineyard and terroir
Gramolere is a cru in the municipality of Monforte d’Alba, between Gavarini and Bussia. The approximately 2-hectare vineyard faces south to southwest at 350–450 m. Its soil consists of slightly sandy limestone. The Guyot-trained vines average about 30 years old and are planted at approximately 4,200 vines per hectare.

Nebbiolo.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in October. Fermentation and maceration take place in stainless-steel tanks for 22–30 days at a constant 28–30 °C.
Ageing
The wine matures for three years in 20–40 hl Slavonian and French oak casks and then spends two months in stainless steel. It is bottled at the beginning of the fourth year after harvest, followed by at least six months in horizontally stored bottles.
Tasting profile
Structure and character define its Monforte identity. Delicate aromatic-herb scents accompany complex notes of leather and liquorice.
Label / history
First produced in 2001. Its stated longevity is 15–35 years.
