Vineyard and terroir
The blend draws on the east-facing Campasso vineyard at 250–350 m and west-facing Neiane at 330–400 m, both in Verduno. Together the parcels cover approximately 0.4 hectares. Their soils consist of limestone and silt. The Guyot-trained vines average about 20 years of age and are planted at approximately 4,500 vines per hectare.
Grapes
A blend of indigenous grape varieties. The individual varieties and their proportions are not specified.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in October. Fermentation and maceration take place in stainless-steel tanks for 10–12 days at 29–31 °C.
Ageing
Rossoluna is the estate’s only wine aged exclusively in 500 L tonneaux. It spends 12–14 months in French-oak tonneaux, followed by 2–3 months in stainless steel and at least 2–3 months in bottle. Bottling occurs in spring of the second year after harvest.
Tasting profile
The wine is distinguished by its depth of color and a complex aromatic profile combining fruit and spice.
Label / history
Rossoluna is the estate’s only blended wine. Its first production year was 1999.
