Storia
Basilisco was founded by Donato Cutolo in 1992 in northern Basilicata, near the small town of Barile in the province of Potenza. The estate is now owned by his son, Michael Cutolo.

Terroir
The vineyards lie on the southern and southeastern slopes of Mount Vulture, at 400–550 meters above sea level. The local soil is volcanic, rich in humus and minerals.
Vinificazione
The winery produces three wines: Basilisco, Teodosio, and Sophia.
