Vineyard and terroir
The fruit is grown on the hills of Valdobbiadene in the province of Treviso, northeastern Italy. The grapes ripen late in the season.
Vinification
Harvest takes place from 15 to 30 September, with the grapes picked slightly overripe. After gentle pressing, primary fermentation proceeds at a controlled temperature with selected yeasts. Secondary fermentation lasts 25–30 days.
Ageing
The wine ages for 1–3 months after secondary fermentation.
Tasting profile
Freshness balances its gentle sweetness, while fruit notes shape the bouquet. The palate is smooth and velvety without feeling heavy.
Serving and pairing
Pair with desserts, cakes and other sweet dishes.
Label / history
Suavis was created by Italian winemaker Giulio Bortolomiol as the fourth and final sparkling wine in the “Tradizionali” range. In 2009, the grape variety’s name changed from Prosecco to Glera when the Conegliano-Valdobbiadene region received DOCG status.
