Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from Tenuta Serra dei Fiori in the municipality of Trezzo Tinella. The vineyard lies at 400 m above sea level with southern exposure and a planting density of 4,100 vines per hectare. Vineyard management includes renewed shoots, permanent natural ground cover and restrained organic fertilisation.
Grapes
70% Chardonnay and 30% Nascetta. Nascetta is a semi-aromatic native Piedmontese variety noted for its capacity to age. The wine brings this local grape together with the internationally cultivated Chardonnay.
Vinification
Whole bunches are loaded into the press and gently pressed. The must is clarified and settled before fermentation in tanks at 10–15°C.
Ageing
Approximately four months in stainless steel followed by another three months in bottle.
Tasting profile
Straw yellow. The opening is predominantly floral, followed by a mineral expression. The palate is fresh, clean and elegant, combining easy drinkability with persistence and complexity. Further bottle ageing of around two years can bring additional development.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 10–12°C. Pair with lean antipasti, delicate pasta and rice dishes, and Mediterranean fish recipes.
Label / history
The Serra dei Fiori identity is built around the imagery of playing cards and a flower formed by the owners’ positive, converging gazes. Il Fiore represents the meeting of Chardonnay and the native Nascetta variety.
