Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The Nascetta vines were planted in 1990 at Tenuta Serra dei Fiori.
Grapes
Nascetta, an ancient native variety of the Langhe and the Cuneo area. Its rediscovery is recent, and production amounts to only a few thousand bottles.
Vinification
Fermentation takes place exclusively in stainless steel.
Ageing
Maturation also takes place exclusively in stainless steel.
Tasting profile
The semi-aromatic Nascetta gives a wide-ranging bouquet of citrus, apple, pear, acacia blossom, fresh vegetal notes, exotic fruit, hay, straw and grapefruit. Time brings its mineral dimension to the fore. With evolution, the nose develops hydrocarbon and flint nuances, while the palate moves from fruit toward a savoury expression.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 10–12°C. It works as an aperitif and pairs with raw fish, white meats and fresh cheeses. Available in 0.75 L bottles.
Label / history
In Piedmontese dialect, Nascetta is pronounced with separated syllables: “Nas-cëtta.” Research carried out by Serra dei Fiori with the University of Turin’s Faculty of Agriculture contributed to the variety’s prestige and recognition under the Langhe DOC Nascetta designation. This work began in particular with Il Fiore Langhe Bianco, a Chardonnay and Nascetta cuvée.
