Vineyard and terroir

The grapes come from 240 certified organic vineyards in Franciacorta, Lombardy, near Lake Iseo. Breezes from the lake and the foothills of the Alps cool the vineyards. High elevation and well-drained soils promote slow, even ripening while preserving acidity and aromatic complexity.

Grapes

The blend comprises 75% Chardonnay, 22.5% Pinot Nero and 2.5% Pinot Bianco.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand. Before pressing, each bunch is gently washed and dried to remove dust and unwanted microorganisms, a process known at Ca' del Bosco as the “berry spa”. Primary fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks. Wine from the 2022 harvest is blended with reserve wines from 2021 and 2020 to maintain a consistent house style. Disgorgement is performed without oxygen using the estate’s patented technology to preserve freshness.

Ageing

The blended wines remain on the lees for approximately 25 months. This extended contact contributes aromas of freshly baked goods and cream and develops a finer, creamier texture.

Tasting profile

Elegant, juicy and lively, with freshness, precise citrus notes, ripe fruit and minerality. Pinot Nero contributes structure and depth, while Pinot Bianco adds softness and a creamy character.

Serving and pairing

Suitable as an aperitif.

Label / history

Ca' del Bosco began operating in 1968. Its origins date to 1965, when Annamaria Clementi Zanella, the mother of Maurizio Zanella, moved to Franciacorta and settled in a large house in the woods. Maurizio Zanella later played an important role in the company’s development.
