Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from Carpineto’s vineyards in Tuscany’s historic Chianti Classico area, which extends between Florence and Siena. Its landscape includes small hilltop villages, olive trees on steep, irregularly shaped fields, and cypress-lined white roads.
Grapes
Sangiovese is complemented by Canaiolo.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness. Following a traditional dry-red method, the wine undergoes a short maceration and ferments in temperature-controlled vats.
Ageing
The wine ages in Slavonian and French oak barrels of various sizes before transfer to stainless-steel or enamel-lined cement tanks. The total maturation period is 24 months, followed by 6–8 months in bottle.
