Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The wine comes from Chianti Classico in the heart of Tuscany, a landscape shaped over centuries by people and nature together. The climate, terrain, elevation and soil composition of the area suit grape growing.
Grapes
The blend is based mainly on Sangiovese, with small amounts of Canaiolo and Cabernet Sauvignon. These are added to balance Sangiovese's high acidity and to give the wine a smooth, easy-drinking texture.
Vinification
Traditional recipes and methods are used. The grapes are crushed immediately after harvest and vinified in large tanks. The wine then undergoes malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
After malolactic fermentation the wine is aged in oak barrels for at least 24 months.
Label / history
The wine is labelled Fassini Chianti Classico Riserva. Fassini is a small estate in the hills of the Montalcino wine-growing area in Tuscany, surrounded by old cypress trees. It combines traditional winemaking with modern developments and is now part of the Castellani group. The wine is made according to strict production rules.
