Questo vino

Vineyard and terroir

La Corte comes from the 3.4-hectare Vigna La Corte, situated at 440–470 metres above sea level. The vineyard is trained to Guyot at a density of 5,500 vines per hectare.

Grapes

100% Sangiovese.

Vinification

Fermentation lasts approximately 15 days at 28°C.

Ageing

The wine matures for at least 30 months in total, including three months in bottle.

Technical data

Alcohol: 13.5%. Average production: 10,000 bottles. Ageing potential: 20–25 years.

Tasting profile

Bright ruby red in colour, balanced and elegant, with pronounced character. Red-fruit scents meet herbal aromas and a light balsamic nuance. The finish is long and smooth.

Serving and pairing

Pair with roasted red meats, bistecca alla Fiorentina, fresh cheeses and medium-aged cheeses.

Label / history

The first production dates to 1904. After more than a century as an IGT wine, La Corte entered the Chianti Classico Gran Selezione denomination as a pure Sangiovese.
