Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The Montepulciano grapes grow near the Adriatic coast, on plots facing north-west.
Vinification
After harvest the grapes are gently pressed. The must macerates for 18–21 days with regular délestage, followed by alcoholic and malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine ages for a year, partly in stainless steel tanks and partly in cement tanks, then spends a further 3 months in bottle before release.
Tasting profile
Playful yet refined in character, with a rich taste and a lingering aroma.
Label / history
"Malandrino" is Italian for "rascal" or "rogue". The name came about spontaneously during a dinner shared by the winery's owners and their friends.
