Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from the estate's 2.75 ha of organic vineyards in the commune of Alba. The vines are grown according to environmentally friendly principles, with attention to the natural balance of the soil.

Vinification

The grapes are picked by hand at optimal ripeness. At the winery the berries are carefully sorted and vinified in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. Fermentation is traditional, with the cap periodically submerged to capture the freshness and aroma of the grapes.

Ageing

The wine matures on its fine lees for about a year. It is then bottled and rests a further 3 months in the winery's cellars.

Tasting profile

Juicy, with a bright fruit-and-berry character.

Label / history

The wine has been produced since 1969. Riccardo Ceretto moved to Alba in the 1930s and started his own business. Almost thirty years later his sons Bruno and Marcello took it on; they are often called the "Barolo Brothers" for their work promoting the Barolo name. The family, now in its third generation, owns nine estates with 80 hectares of vineyards in total and produces around 700,000 bottles a year. Each estate has its own production facilities and its wines their own style.
