Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown in the Colli Berici (Berici Hills), a range of ancient volcanic hills between Verona and Padua. The climate is very mild and sunny, similar to the Mediterranean, and vines have been grown here for thousands of years. The hills produce both D.O.C. and I.G.T. wines.
Tasting profile
A fresh, light table wine.
Label / history
Cielo e Terra was founded in 1908. Its name combines terra, Italian for "earth", with the surname of its founders, the Cielo family. Under Pietro Cielo the company began expanding and improving its production in 1930, and new vineyards were established in 1962, which allowed production to increase. The winery is now led by the fourth-generation brothers Luca and Pierpaolo Cielo. It owns around 300 ha of land and is one of the largest producers in the Veneto, ranking second in distribution.
Cielo e Terra belongs to Gruppo Cantine Colli Berici (The Colli Berici Group of Cellars), one of Italy's largest winemaking groups, with around 4,000 ha of vineyards where most of the company's wines are made. With the group's winemakers, the estate takes part in a project to improve winegrowing and production across the Berici Hills, from vineyard to bottle.
