Vineyard and terroir
Vigneto Daniela is a south-facing vineyard planted in 2004. It is trained to simple Guyot, an uncommon system within an estate dominated by pergola-trained vineyards.
Grapes
Montepulciano d’Abruzzo.
Tasting profile
The relative youth of the vineyard gives the wine a joyful, crunchy character together with the density associated with young Montepulciano.
Vintage notes
The 2015 Vigneto Daniela formed part of the first limited release of the estate’s three separately bottled single-vineyard Montepulciano wines from its private cellar. The offering included 750 ml bottles and a three-vineyard magnum assortment. Standard bottles from vintages beginning with 2010 were not hand-decanted before this release, although all large formats were decanted.
Label / history
The three historic selections—Vigneto Daniela, Vigneto Casa Pepe and Vigneto Branella—had traditionally been vinified separately and released at different times according to their tasting readiness and capacity to evolve. The special 2015 offering presented them simultaneously as individual vineyard expressions.
