Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from vineyards around Ortona, San Salvo and Pollutri on Abruzzo’s Adriatic coast. The vines face south-east, grow in mixed clay-and-limestone soils and are trained to both Guyot and Pergola systems.
Grapes
Montepulciano.
Vinification
After arrival at the cellar, the grapes are gently crushed and destemmed. A four-day cold maceration precedes fermentation in stainless-steel tanks at 24–26°C for 8–10 days.
Tasting profile
Ruby red with garnet highlights. The bouquet is intense, persistent and fruit-driven, led by wild berries. The palate is full-bodied and balanced, with light tannins and a clean aftertaste.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 16–18°C. Pair with traditional Italian dishes, risotto, pasta and pork.
