Vineyard and terroir
Produced in Niscemi (CL), from vineyards at 80 m a.s.l. on medium-textured soil tending toward sand. The vines are trained to spurred cordon at 5,900 plants per hectare. Yield is 85 q/ha, with harvest during the first half of September.
Grapes
Merlot and Perricone.
Vinification
Vinified in temperature-controlled steel, with malolactic fermentation completed.
Ageing
Four months in steel followed by two months in bottle.
Technical data
Sicilia DOC. First vintage: 2023. A youthful, easy-drinking red available in 0.75 L bottles.
Tasting profile
Ruby red with violet reflections. Soft and fresh on the palate, with an inviting profile recalling citrus, particularly blood orange.
Serving and pairing
Ideal with red meats and cheeses. It can also accompany white-meat dishes and firm, meaty fish such as tuna and swordfish.
Label / history
The label’s Sicilian ceramic decoration evokes the island’s sun, sea and nature, reflecting Sicily’s history as a crossroads of cultures. The imagery is intended to parallel the wine’s expression of the island’s aromas and flavors.
