Storia
Training
Francesco Versio, a young winemaker from Neive, graduated from the Alba School of Enology in 2005 and from the University of Turin in 2009. He then worked at Bruno Giacosa under the guidance of enologist Dante Scaglione, where he learned to recognize the character of different soils and vineyards and to express it in wine.
Founding the estate
In 2013, Francesco started making wine under his own name, using grapes from his grandfather's old plots in the San Cristoforo and Currà areas of Neive. He later expanded his vineyards with plots in the Starderi and Albesani crus.
Terroir
The estate's plots lie in the San Cristoforo and Currà areas of Neive, later expanded with plots in the Starderi and Albesani crus.
Vinificazione
The wines are made using traditional methods, including spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts, maceration adapted to the conditions of each vintage, and aging in oak barrels.
