The Nerello Mascalese is grown in espalier- and alberello-trained vineyards in the Verzella, Feudo di Mezzo, Guardiola and Solicchiata contrade within Castiglione di Sicilia. Mountain viticulture and the individual character of each contrada shape the wine.
