Storia
Cristiano Guttarolo began making wine in 2004 on the outskirts of Gioia del Colle in Puglia, starting with 2.2 hectares of vineyards inherited from his grandfather. Over the years, he expanded the estate to 7 hectares and converted the farmhouse—an old masseria built entirely from local stone—into a winery.
Terroir
The vineyards lie on the Murge Plateau at 360 meters above sea level, in Gioia del Colle, Puglia. Strong breezes from the Adriatic and Ionian seas provide a cooling influence, keeping the grapes cool even under the hot summer sun. The plateau's fossilized limestone, often visible through the topsoil, contributes to the elegance of the wines.
Vinificazione
Cristiano Guttarolo has farmed organically since he began making wine, working the soil in a way that supports the natural balance of local flora and fauna as much as possible. He stays flexible and works in harmony with nature, changing the grape varieties and their proportions in his wines each year to create the best possible cuvées.
