Storia
Podere Il Saliceto was founded in 2004 by Gian Paolo Isabella and Marcello Righi on the plain of Campogalliano, 6 km from Modena. Gian Paolo, formerly known as a Muay Thai champion, and Marcello, a relative of his wife, decided one day to start a business together. They took out a bank loan, bought 4 hectares of land and began planting vines.
For four years, the two partners grew their grapes using the Simonit & Sirch method and personally oversaw every harvest. Today Podere Il Saliceto is the only winery producing wine from the rare Malbo grape variety.
